Paul wrote to Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:12-17 and told Timothy what God had done for him.
He wrote of the longsuffering, love, mercy, and grace of Jesus Christ our Lord. Paul did not elevate himself above his brothers and sisters in Christ - or even young Timothy.
He needed what God offered through Jesus Christ, the same as everyone else.
And it is this message that we as preachers need to remember.
